The Buzz About HAFA

You've probably read a lot about HAFA, or the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternative. This is the government's new program to assist those homeowners who owe more than their home is worth, can't make their payments because of a financial hardship, and do not qualify for one of the Loan Modification Programs currently being offered. This information has been in all of the news lately, and as usual, there is a lot of confusion about what it is and what it will do. As with most new programs, we will need some time to pass to see how the lenders are going to handle this, but I think it may provide some much needed structure to the Short Sale and Deed in Lieu alternatives to Foreclosure.

I have installed a short You Tube presentation on the homepage of my Website, www.mike-bryantcanhelp.com that will help explain the basics of the program. If you know someone who might be in need of this help, please pass this along to them. When facing a foreclosure time is of the essence, so have them pick up the phone and call me if they have any questions. Better yet, call me with their contact information, and tell them I will call them within 24 hours!

Take the Survey and See If You Qualify!

I’ve recently made some enhancements to my Website, and I wanted you to know about an extremely useful resource that I’m providing for homeowners in our community. There are a range of government programs available for those facing financial hardship, but it can be difficult to find out who is eligible for what. Just trying to sift through all of the conflicting information can be very frustrating.

To simplify this process, I have made free surveys available to help visitors learn about their eligibility for each program, as well as what the program can provide. You can access the surveys on my website here:

Understanding the HAFA Program

I'm reaching out to my clients this month because of a big development in the real estate world. The rising number of foreclosures has spurred a government-led movement towards short sales and deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure.

Beginning April 5th, there is big news for homeowners in America who owe more than their home is worth and don’t know what to do about it. In an effort to slow the rising number of foreclosures, a government-backed program has been released: the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives Program (HAFA). Basically, the program aims to save as many Americans from foreclosure as possible, which will also help to save the overall value of the surrounding communities.

Here's the short and sweet of it: HAFA offers incentives to lenders and homeowners who avoid foreclosure through short sales and deeds-in-lieu. HAFA also sets time frames that ensure lenders don't drag their feet in responding to homeowners.
To learn more and find out if you, or someone you know, might be eligible, you can download my free report here:
